Citrine cast in place band ring
Our Citrine band is cast in sterling silver and made from an original hand carved wax design. This beautiful and vibrant little citrine gemstone is then cast into the mould , allowing molten metal to flow around it, casting it in place allowing for a completely unique organic finished product .Imprints of the sand from this casting method are left in the silver for a rustic worn finished. Beach sand is also added to give this piece a raw and rugged texture.
Also known as the “Light Maker,” or ‘ the Merchants Stone’’ citrine has a bright yellow hue, which reflects its equally vibrant energy . It is said that citrine holds within it the power of the sun. Citrine can be found in our history as far back as the ancient Greeks. During the Middle Ages citrine became an essential adornment of alchemists. Known as ‘ the philosophers stone ,In the hands of alchemists, Citrine was applied in the pursuit of the transmutation process in which the base metals were being transformed into gold while in search of the ‘fountain of youth’.
