The spinner revolves perfectly smooth, attached to the interesting shank made of intricately entwined sterling silver wire work, topped with simple bail.
Fine craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail turns this sterling silver fob into a really fine vintage piece made in the style of the late 19th century Victorian era. The hallmarks which are normally found on the thick underside of the fob have been worn down so an exact date of this piece can not be established.
Its always very unusual to see a piece like this where a design has been etched into the stone itself - It is indicative of the art of Scrimshaws which saw Sailors in the 18th century carved nautical etchings into whale done and Ivory. A boar head has been etched into the material , its significants lends its hand to another mystery surrounding this piece.
