Antique Victorian Spoon Ring

$160.00

This unusual ring was made using an Antique sterling silver spoon. The unique design is indicative of the late Victorian Era. This little piece of history is nearly 130 year’s old.

This unusual sterling silver spoon was annealed using heat and bent into shape. Then soldered together at the desired size. I polished this ring but did not want to take off any of the original marks of wear. Antique pieces like this should be celebrated for their form and history which i wanted to respect when changing it from spoon to a ring. It looks lived in and worn from the inside band but the outside details are as crispy and clear.

This ring is fully hallmarked. The makers mark ( G.M.J ) is seen. George Maudsley Jackson was the most important specialist flatware maker of the late Victorian period using GMJ makers mark in 1883 to 1897. The next hallmark is a lions head for London. A lions body for Sterling silver and the Letter U - signifying it was made in 1895. Making this piece 129 years old.

I adore transforming old forgotten, disregarded or disused antiques into a piece of history someone will adore and cherish for years to come. This piece speaks to my heart and I hope it speaks to yours.

This band is rounded off on the inside and outside making it incredibly comfortable for everyday wear.
