This beautiful antique bracelets is one of my favourite pieces in this collection. This Antique sterling silver bracelets originates as a pocket watch chain containing alternating fetter links ( trombone links) and knot links.
18th century / 19th century saw these chain being originally worn on a gentlemans waistcoat and used to secure his pock watch. The original clasps and a few links have been lost to time but I still wanted to transform these beautiful links into a wearable piece of jewellery. Each fetter link has its original hallmark of a lion passant and a single hallmarking of M.D ( the makers mark) . I have replaced the original clasp with a secure sterling silver parrot clasp. I have lightly polished and cleaned this piece as I wanted to leave as much character remaining within it. Without a date hallmark I cannot date this piece , but it is certainty antique, more then likely from the late 19th century.
This antique bracelet is steeped in history and allure and makes for a beautiful heavy linked chain bracelet.
