Mixed Histories Bracelet

$350.00

This beautiful Bracelet is a combination of different antique an vintage elements. What started off as a broken antique chain, a antique brooch and an usable heart lock has transformed into this beautifully crafted piece of history.

This bracelets hosts a stunning piece of Victorian Era silversmithing. The focus of this bracelet is the gorgeous etched sterling silver plate showing an anchor and hearts with bluebell flowers ( a popular symbol of hope in the Victorian Era). This piece has been fully hallmarked with a lion head stating it is 925 silver, an anchor to show where it was made in Birmingham and a date ( hard to distinguish but perhaps an i symbolising the date 1883/ 1908). The makers mark is clearly shown on the back of the plate and it reads SBRO's which tells us it was made by Sheldon Sydenham Brothers circa 1890's UK.

This central piece was an 130 year old brooch that needed a new lease of life. It has been attached to a chunky solid sterling silver graduating vintage chain which is held together by a vintage ( 1940's) heart shaped padlock with safety chain. The padlock is hallmarked with 'sterling' on the back.

Giving forgotten antiques a new chance to shine is where my heart lies and I am so excited for this treasure to find a new home with a new story to add to its already rich history.
